題 目：Towards Hard-Real Time Communications over Wireless Networks
無線網(wǎng)絡(luò)中的硬實(shí)時(shí)通信：傳統(tǒng)的無線網(wǎng)絡(luò)通?？紤]的是數(shù)據(jù)盡可能的實(shí)時(shí)傳輸。但是在工業(yè)自動(dòng)化控制系統(tǒng)中，有些關(guān)鍵數(shù)據(jù)要求高可靠、高實(shí)時(shí)的傳輸（允許延時(shí)在毫秒級(jí)），同時(shí)要求網(wǎng)絡(luò)具有QoS保障，我們稱之謂Hard-Real Time Communication問題。
報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介：Prof. Dr. James Gross studied computer engineering at the Technical University Berlin (TUB) and at the University of California, San Diego （UCSD）. He received the Diploma degree from TUB in 2002 and the PhD degree from TUB (with distinction) in 2006. From 2006 till 2008 he has been with the Telecommunication Networks Group (TUB) as a post doctor. Since January 2008 he is assistant professor at RWTH Aachen University, leading a group on Mobile Network Performance within the UMIC Research Centre.
Dr. Gross haspublished about 50 articles in international conferences and journals. He is the recipient of the VDE-ITG/GI KuVS PhD thesis award in 2007, and the best paper award at IEEE WoWMoM 2009 and European Wireless 2009. His research interests are related to cross-layer adaptation, interference control, QoS provisioning and reliability in wireless networks. So far, Dr. Gross has served as TPC member for several conferences and workshops, among them ACM Sigcomm ("TPC light"), ICST WiOpt, IEEE WoWMoM and European Wireless 2009. Dr. Gross is a member of the IEEE and VDE.
