報告摘要：The flourish of digital cameras and smartphones has brought tremendous amount of personal photos, which lead to significant changes in both research and development. This talk would be a personal review of research on personal photos, covering the early photo annotation, multimedia mining, large scale visual recognition, photo2product search, and recently video based question and answering.The talk will also summarize research lessons from startup’s viewpoints, and discuss interesting directions in the future.
報告人簡介：Liangliang Cao ( http://llcao.net) is a co-founder of HelloVeraAI, a new startup at New York City. Before this startup, he was a Senior Scientist at Yahoo Labs and Research Staff Member at IBM Watson Research Center. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University. He received ACM SIGMM Rising Star Award in 2017 and IBM Outstanding Technical Accomplishment in 2012. He won 1st place of ImageNet LSVRC Challenge in 2010. He studied in USTC from 1998 to 2003.
