報告題目:An Optimized Move List for DPA in CBRS

報告摘要:In Citizen Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band, upon the activation of a Dynamic Protection Area (DPA) on a channel, a subset of CBRS Devices (called CBSDs) from both the Priority Access License (PAL) and General Authorized Access (GAA) users must cease transmission so that the 95th percentile aggregate interference level at the incumbent Navy radars, across all directional beams, can be kept under a predefined interference threshold. This subset of CBSDs constitutes a “move list” and a key objective is to minimize this move list (and thus minimizing the adverse impact on the PAL and GAA users). We find that move lists obtained by the state-of-the-art algorithms tend to be unnecessarily large due to their designs; nor can they offer the required differentiated service between the PAL and GAA users. This paper presents an optimization-based algorithm (called OML) to find the minimum move list. The essence of OML encompasses holistic considerations of all DPA points and all beam directions simultaneously in its formulation, a two-stage optimization process with a priority to the PAL CBSDs, and the use of a small subset of DPA points to expedite computation time. Simulation results show a significant improvement of OML over the state-of-the-art in its ability to find a smaller move list and to offer priority to PAL over GAA CBSDs while meeting interference protection at all DPA points.

報告人簡介:Dr. Yi Shi is a Research Associate Professor at Commonwealth Cyber Initiative and a Research Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (by Courtesy), Virginia Tech. Before joining Virginia Tech, Dr. Shi was a Senior Lead Scientist at Intelligent Automation, a BlueHalo company. He led/participated in more than 70 projects funded by DoD agencies. He holds three patents on wireless communications and social networks. Dr. Shi’s research focuses on machine learning, algorithm design, and optimization for NextG wireless networks and security. His research has been funded by NSF, MDA, and AFRL. His work has been published in leading IEEE and ACM journals and presented at top-tier international conferences. He is a recipient of the Test of Time Paper Award at IEEE INFOCOM 2023, a recipient of four Best Paper Awards at IEEE and ACM conferences. Dr. Shi was recognized as an Exemplary Editor for IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking in 2023, a Distinguished TPC member for IEEE INFOCOM 2021, and an Exemplary Editor for IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials in 2014. Dr. Shi currently serves as an Editor for IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials and IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking. He has also served as a Co-Chair for various IEEE and ACM Workshops, Conference Tracks, and Symposia, as well as a TPC member for many major international conferences.
